I'm a digital privacy activist, storyteller, anarchist, and technologist. By day, I work at Michigan State University as an information security analyst. By night, I help activists stay safe in an increasingly surveilled world. I also have a few tabletop RPG projects floating about.
Digital Privacy for Activists
I work with community and political organizers on their security and privacy concerns, as both a knowledge base and technical resource. I have direct experience with grassroots antifascist, labor, and community defense organizing. If your org is interested in connecting with me about digital privacy and cybersecurity, please reach out at my email above so we can connect on Signal.
Wychroot
Wychroot is my WIP tabletop RPG. Set some ~400 years after the climate apocalypse on Earth, this science-fantasy game is filled with solarpunk hackers, mycelium-based networking infrastructure, community building, and a powerful crafting system. Based on the fiction-first mechanics of John Harper's Blades in the Dark, this project is my main creative outlet and joy. One day, I might even release it.
Information Security @ MSU
As a security analyst on MSU's Governance, Risk, and Compliance & Incident Response teams, I work to secure the university's networks, research data, and community members. I am the service owner of MSU's vulnerability management program, working with stakeholders across campus to keep systems up-to-date and creatively reduce risk around niche legacy systems that are past end-of-life.
I'm a multi-hat-wearing technical and creative professional who's passionate about the intersection of people and technology. Previous to my work in cybersecurity, I spent the better part of a decade as a freelance software developer and occasional game writer/designer. I have worked in mobile games, healthcare tech, manufacturing, and marketing verticals.
Deceptively outdoorsy, I love backcountry backpacking and exploring nature with my dog, Beorn. I'm also a prolific consumer of sci-fi and fantasy media and hope to write epic SFF novels in a small cabin in the woods one day.
After majoring for a time in computer and electrical engineering, computer science, and women's and gender studies, I finally earned a BA in Journalism and Screen Studies from University of Michigan - Dearborn.
I also a hold an MSIT in Cybersecurity from Walsh College, where I developed privacy training curriculum for at-risk groups as my capstone project.
